We have asked Hōhepa to make us some pillar candles to pair with our uku plinths.
These are 100% beeswax dipped in a dark plum coloured wax.

The Hōhepa Candle initiative was founded in the early 1980s in Clive, the Hōhepa
Candle Studio has been providing meaningful work opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. In 2018, this social enterprise relocated to central Napier, becoming part of Hōhepa Creative Works.
The candle making team produce natural products out of 100% locally sourced beeswax from Takapau Kintail Honey.

Beeswax is purifying and detoxifying for the air. We have developed an almost zero-waste work-process. Hōhepa candles are made to be lit! Beeswax is purifying and detoxifying for the air. We encourage using them to create a beautiful and warm ambience and also enjoy the benefits of kindled beeswax.
